Ricardo Climent est professeur de composition musicale interactive à l’Université de Manchester, au Royaume-Uni, où il est directeur du NOVARS Research Centre et chef de la composition. Au cours des dernières années, ses recherches se sont concentrées sur le potentiel des moteurs de jeux audio à des fins de composition, en utilisant « l’audition» comme principale source de navigation et d’exploration. Ricardo a lancé des projets de collaboration, tels que : The Microbial Ensemble, (projet de sonification microbienne avec le Dr Quan Gan), The Carxofa Electric Band (un atelier pour enfants avec des légumes et de l’électronique avec le Dr Iain McCurdy), The Tornado-Project (un projet de trio transatlantique avec Esther Lamneck (clarinette) et Elizabeth McNutt (flûte)), Drosophila (une tournée de danse-théâtre d’une mouche aveugle avec KLEM et Idoia Zabaleta), Ho- une expédition sonore au Vietnam, (une œuvre de jeu-audio), S.LOW, (un projet interdisciplinaire à Berlin impliquant des artistes de 34 pays à travers le monde), LocativeAudio Research Network (co-dirigé par des étudiants PG à NOVARS), le projet Timbila (avec Miquel Bernat), CitizenUrge, (avec DJ Slim Vic, Suède), ‘[5]’ -Valencia 1939, y compris géo-locative « Putney » avec Alena Mesarosova, Manuel Ferrer et Mark Pilkington et a lancé le réseau dutch-UK.network 58/58.
En termes d’éducation, avant son doctorat en composition musicale électroacoustique et une maîtrise en arts dans le même domaine (tous deux à l’Université Queen’s de Belfast), il a obtenu un diplôme de cinq ans en économie à l’Université de Valence, en Espagne, et un diplôme de 3 ans par FUFAP, Université Alcala de Henares (Madrid)/UPV.
Ricardo Climent is Professor of Interactive Music Composition at University of Manchester, UK, where he serves as director of the NOVARS Research Centre and as head of Composition. For the last few years his research has focused on the potential of game-audio, physics and graphic engines for compositional purposes, using ‘the aural’ as the primary source for navigation and exploration.
