Alessandro Sciaraffa (1976) vit et travaille à Turin.
Diplômé en architecture du Politecnico di Torino, il a ensuite étudié à la Fondazione Spinola Banna, avant d’obtenir son diplôme en Conception d’expositions à l’Académie Domus de Milan.
Lauréat de prix nationaux et internationaux, il a exposé à Turin à la Fondazione Merz, à la Galleria d’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea et à la Fondazione Sandretto Rebaudengo.
La recherche d’Alessandro Sciaraffa explore différents niveaux de perception sensorielle, développant le potentiel fonctionnel et plastique d’éléments insaisissables tels que le son, la lumière, la chaleur, l’eau et les ondes radio. L’enregistrement, à la fois dans son sens étendu et littéral, est le système de capture que l’artiste utilise pour matérialiser et donner corps aux trajectoires qui parcourent la sensibilité humaine. Le bruit, le bruissement, le crépitement, les étincelles refont surface grâce à la relation complexe qui s’établit entre les matériaux, l’espace, la présence et les gestes de ceux qui entrent dans la sphère de l’œuvre.
Invités à concevoir des ateliers pour le public adulte, Alis/Filliol Alessandro Sciaraffa propose des expériences basées sur la performance, en mettant l’accent sur la temporalité et l’exécution, mais ils laisseront également place à l’interprétation et au hasard, ce qui est une spécificité de ces ateliers.
Alessandro Sciaraffa (1976) lives and works in Turin.
He graduated in architecture from the Politecnico di Torino and then studied at the Fondazione Spinola Banna, before graduating in the Designing the exhibition course at the Domus Academy of Milan.
A winner of national and international prizes, he has exhibited in Turin at the Fondazione Merz, at the Galleria d’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea and at the Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo
The research of Alessandro Sciaraffa explores different levels of sensorial perception, developing the functional and plastic potential of elusive elements such as sound, light, heat, water, and radio waves. The recording, both in its extended and literal meaning, is the capture apparatus the artist uses to materialize and give substance to the trajectories that run underneath human sensibility. Noise, rustles, crackles, sparkles re-surface thanks to the complex relationship that is established between materials, space, and the presence and the gestures of those who enter the sphere of the work.
Invited to design the workshops for adult publics, Alis/Filliol Alessandro Sciaraffa propose performance-based experiences, with an emphasis on temporality and execution, but they will also leave room for interpretation and chance, which is a typical feature of workshop activities.
